CRAIG OKONSKI, DPM
Dr. Okonski was raised in Southeast Michigan. He graduated from Oakland University and then attended the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine obtaining his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. His residency program was at Hutzel Hospital with rotations through several hospitals at Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Okonski is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He started a private practice in southwest Michigan in 1985. He is married to Cherie (Voss) and they have 2 wonderful sons, Daniel and Ryan. His interests involve spending time with family, traveling and golfing. He is also an avid reader.
DAVID HALSTEAD, DPM
Dr. Halstead is a native of Michigan. He received his undergraduate education at Michigan State University. His podiatric education was received at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He performed his podiatric surgical residency at Madison Community Hospital for Specialty Surgery in the Detroit area. Dr. Halstead is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He has been in private practice in Southwest Michigan since 1998. Dr. Halstead is married to Dina and they have 2 sons. His interests include spending time with his family and friends, watching the boys in their sports, exercise, and travel.
KRISTA KOTZEVA, DPM
Dr. Kotzeva is a Wisconsin native who completed a 3-year surgical residency at McLaren Macomb. Following residency, she pursued an additional year of advanced fellowship training. She completed her fellowship training at Pennsylvania Intensive Lower Extremity Fellowship in Philadelphia, PA where she worked in a high surgical volume orthopedic group. While in fellowship Dr. Kotzeva performed cases including flat and cavus foot reconstruction, pediatrics, sports medicine, complex revision foot and ankle cases, and 3D bunion correction. During fellowship, she focused on total ankle joint replacement while training under the highly sought-after foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Jason R. Miller.
Though trained in the most advanced surgical techniques, Dr. Kotzeva only recommends surgery when indicated and believes there are many conditions that can be alleviated with conservative treatment. Dr. Kotzeva is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a former graduate of Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine, and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Parkside.
Dr. Kotzeva has a passion for education. She believes in giving back to the medical field and the local community. When not working she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and working out.
Dr. Kotzeva is eager to be returning back to Michigan and join the St. Joseph community.
PAMELA SCOTT
Pam has been involved with podiatry over 40 years and is our Office Manager. She has worked in this office for 29 years and is a Podiatric Medical Assistant Certified (PMAC). Aside from her management and organization duties, she also does patient care and monitors and sets up the surgical schedule. She commutes from Kalamazoo where she lives with her husband Brad. Pam enjoys socializing and entertaining and anything connected with food! She is very involved with Kalamazoo Community Church. She thinks she has the best “bosses in the business”.
RANEE HOOVER
Ranee came to work in our office in 2006, after first being one of our patients. She works preparing patients for the doctors and/or procedures and entering computer information. She also orders the majority of supplies for the office and multitasks
well. She is married to Bruce and has 4 children and 12 grandchildren. Babysitting is one of her priorities, but she also occasionally loves to relax with a favorite beverage or “hit” the bowling alley. She loves the people she works with!!!
BECKY RYAN
Becky started working for us in 2004 in our Watervliet office and when we left there we knew we wanted to take her with us! Along with Ranee, Becky works preparing patients for the doctors and entering medical records. She also does prep, measuring and dispensing of all diabetic shoes. She is a whiz at organization. She is married to Larry and has 5 kids with 2 still at home who keep her busy with sports. She loves summer evenings on her porch especially when it’s storming. Christmas is her favorite time of year.
PATTIE ALLRED
Pattie works as a front desk receptionist, checking patients out, making appointments and does much of the phone work. She also does a portion of our account tracking. She has worked for us for 4 years and is always willing to take on the many extra projects that become available and is very tenacious. She loves to decorate our office for the holidays. The study of her genealogy is one of her avid hobbies and she is very involved with her church. She is married and has a high school aged daughter who is active in sports.
BRIANNA ROSE
Brianna works for us ½ day a week, prepping patients for the doctors. She also occasionally covers the front desk when we need extra help. She spends most of her time with her 2-year-old daughter and absolutely loves being an “at home” mom.
SHERRIE SWISHER
Sherrie came to our office in May 2018 with 9 years of medical financial experience and prior to that 10 years of accounting experience. She oversees our accounts receivable department. She relates that she finds this office a joy to work in and loves her new position and we love having her here. She has been married to Terry for 37 years and together they have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. She loves the beach, camping and scrapbooking.
